Three Things Thursday

1. This past weekend Jason, Makinley, and I went to the Andrew York Lineman Rodeo in Wenatchee, WA. Four of his co-workers and their families were there to participate. We decided to go to support them and hopefully see what Jason will be doing at some point in the future. He is currently a groundman for the Lewis County PUD. He loves it. We left late Friday night and arrived at 11PM. We were up again at 5:45AM to get ready and watch the opening ceremonies. The team participated in several work related contests. I took a lot of pictures. I also participated in the lineman pole climbing competition. I got 3rd place. I LOVED it. Great cross training potential :) The guys took 5th out of 19 teams. Afterwards there was a BBQ and tons of things for the kids to do. The weather was amazing after all the rain we've had at home. We ended up staying two nights and came home Sunday evening. It was an unplanned trip that turned out great. It was a wonderful way to start off the summer.

2. My FIL is an engineer for Union Pacific and the area coordinator for Operation Lifesaver. It is a national train safety awareness program. Please check out their website. Lots of information we all could use, especially if you live close to train tracks. Tomorrow the train will be in Centralia, WA. where I will be working to help people and their families ride at 10, 11, 1, 2, and 3PM. They will get to ride and get a little train safety information at the same time. It is going to be a fun but busy day. I'll have to have my girls packed and ready to leave with Jason's Mom tonight. I'm exhausted thinking about the next few days. I hope I don't get too wore out for Saturday.

3. Rock 'n' Roll Running Outfit. I'm having issues coming up with one. I wanted something cool that would stand out. Maybe I'll just take a few of my things and hope to find something perfect at the EXPO. Any suggestions??? What are you wearing on Saturday?

This has been a crazy week so far. I so needed to get a last run in but I'm thinking between the very long days it might be better that I didn't. I don't need to get sick or injured at this point. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a short run tonight after we drop off the girls. I'm starting to get a little nervous.

Good luck to everyone with final race preparations for this weekend!!!!!
