New Music Friday

I was planning on getting this post done earlier than this but who knew a bottle of pop could be so dangerous.  I accidentally knocked a liter of pop out of our fridge where it proceeded to completely blow up.  I grabbed the bottle, threw it in the sink,  and then ran off to grab a towel.  Big mistake.  The pop had gone way farther across my kitchen than I thought which resulted in me making a very quick and ugly trip down to my extremely hard tile floor.

Accident Report ~ My whole right side is extremely sore.  My back is messed up and my shoulder keeps popping.  My most concerning issue is a very sore right foot and a red, swollen, and painful right knee.  I'm hoping things just look bad.

Now to distract myself from my crash is New Music Friday..........

These last two pics are from the concert.  Super cool.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this a few days ago.  On September 16th I was lucky enough to have a ticket to see this boy.  Worth every penny.  He even grabbed and held onto my hand at one point.  It was an awesome concert.  Now I have another song I can add to my running playlist.  Bonus.

I know that this song has been out for awhile but it's one of my favorites right now to run to.  It just gets me going.  A little something for those who like country :)

Quite the combo of music today.  I blame the fall :)  The above link is for the clean version of the song but if you want to live a little more on the wild side, an explicit version is available as well.

Any new songs you like to run to?

Hope everyone is having a great Friday.  Good luck to all of you who are running this weekend!!!!

Three Things Thursday

Before our run last night.

1.  Soccer.  Lots of soccer during the week.  On game nights I'm usually taking pics and cheering from the sidelines.  I'm very proud of Little M.  She has become a good player and way more aggressive than her big sister was.  She needs a little fire when we keep going up against teams with bigger players.  While Little M has practice I try and take advantage of that time and run with Big M.  Last night we managed 3.76 miles.
Little M on the move.

I'm loving this elevation chart :)

2.  Snohomish River Run  Speaking of running, it's official.............Makenna will be running her very first Half Marathon with me at the Snohomish River Run on Saturday, October 27th.  I'm so excited to share this with her.  It's not too late, sign up and come help me pace Makenna to her first finish.

A few pics of the course.

3.  Seattle Half Marathon  I took advantage of the huge special not too long ago and signed up for the Seattle Half Marathon at 1/2 price...score.  Now that Jason is back in school I have to plan around that.  We don't have his schedule yet on that but I'm planning it as a girls weekend for me at this point.  I was hoping that maybe some of my blogger buddies might be running the half or the full as well?  Since it's just me I'd hate to get a hotel but the thought of getting up in the middle of the night to find parking and make it to the start doesn't sound fun either.  Anyone looking for some extra girl/runner/blogger time???  The race is Sunday, November 25th.  It's 3 days after Thanksgiving.  Think of all those extra calories you could burn off :)  Hoping it all works out.

New Music Friday

Yes, it's been awhile but since I'm getting back into the swing of things I figured this would be a great way to start.

You all know I couldn't do this without a Maroon 5 song, right?  Their new album has lots of fun catchy songs that would be great for any running playlist, including this song.  Love it!

Who doesn't love a good angry song to run to?  You can usually count on P!nk to deliver.

You might also recognize this song.  Also on my playlist.

Snohomish River Run Discount

The Snohomish River Run is my next half on my running schedule.  I'm getting super excited about it.  It will be on Saturday, October 27th, 2012.  This is a brand new half marathon.  I'm hoping to get more of my running peeps involved and to help spread the word.  Please check out the website HERE for more information and to get registered.  It looks like it is going to be an amazing fall race.  If a half marathon isn't for you, then they are also offering a 10K race.  Both races will be chip timed.  A new announcement on the website is that Stockpot Soups will be providing soup to all of the runners.  One of my favorite finish line foods in the fall.

For half marathon course info, click HERE.

Snohomish River Run also has a Facebook page.  Lots of current info.  Click HERE to "Like" their page.

Running in the fall is my favorite.  It was fall when I ran my very first marathon in October 2006.  I love all the colors and everything else associated with this time of year.

Another reason I'm super excited about this run is the fact that my running buddy will most likely be making this her very first half marathon.  I'm super excited to share such a fun event with her.  We are making it fun with zero pressure.  I want her to enjoy this as much as I do.  I'm hoping this is something we can share together for a long time.

DISCOUNT

To help celebrate this new half marathon and to help thank all of my amazing blog followers and readers, they are offering a $10 discount code for the race.  The code is ~ ImpossibleSRR12

Now what are you waiting for???  Another awesome reason to come check out this race and to help cheer on Big M as she runs her first half marathon.

Looking for more of a good time?  I personally know how much fun it is to run with a stache :)  Check out The Mustache Dache.  It's a 5K for men, women, and children.  If you want to look cool and help support a great cause you can get more info and register HERE.

Where Have I Been?

Tressa & I

Many of you know that life has been a bit crazy for me the past year.  I have tried my best to stay healthy and keep on top of things.  I feel like I've failed miserably.  I'm determined to regain a focus for my life.  I want to accomplish so many things.  I feel like life is changing so fast.  I don't want to miss out on anything else.  I know that regret is one of the worst things to live with.

Here's a quick recap of the past month.

1.  Participated with some friends, new & old (Tressa & Jesse), in the Spokane to Sandpoint Relay. Pics on Facebook HERE. I will do a race report for this.  Just know that it was awesome and I'm really looking forward to another relay.  So much fun.
Mustache & Tattoo Relay Leg

2.  Got the call around 3AM after running my second leg of the relay that my Grandma had passed away.  So thankful that my Dad & Stepmom made it there so she wasn't alone.  I will forever feel guilty and regret over the fact that I wasn't there to say goodbye and be there with my family.  Obviously, I wasn't meant to be there for some reason.  Still working through that.

3.  Little M started soccer.  Since Big M chose to take a year off she has, by default, become my running buddy during soccer practice :)  I have lots of things to look forward to with her.

4.  School started.  Nuff said.

5.  I have become a new Mom.  Within a 24 hour period I went from a 1 dog home to 3.  Yes, we are nuts.  One was a rescue type adoption and the other is a new miniature dachshund puppy friend for Roxy.  Pics and post coming soon :)

As my life is getting back into a schedule with school and a future without my sweet Grandma, I'm trying to focus on fun things coming up.  Most people don't realize how much I deal with depression.  The last few weeks have been overwhelming and have brought up lots of negative feelings and sadness.  I feel like I'm very alone with dealing with most of this.  I'm tired of getting sucked down so I'm going to try my best to move forward and accomplish a few things.  Running has always been a huge help.  Here are things I'm determined to do to make myself feel better not only physically, but mentally as well.

1.  Lose weight.  I've done it before and I will do it again.  Such a frustrating thing.  Stress doesn't do great things to my body.  I can't continue to feel trapped within this body.  I know I will never be a "fast" runner but I know I'm capable of so much more and each pound holds me back.  Enough is enough.

2.  Do more things as a family.  Whether it be a game night, hike, or a run, I think we should do way more quality things together.  Life is too short.  Love your friends and family.  Let them know that you love them.

3.  Ramp up my workouts.  That's right, I plan on finding new and fun ways to torture myself.  I'm hoping it helps with #1.

4.  Run & blog more.  I know I've said it in the past but I mean it this time.  My blog and the friends I've gained from it are priceless.  I know this will help keep me focused.

Lots more coming.  Thanks to all of you who have hung in there with me.
