Relay For Life

I had originally planned to run the Capital City Half Marathon this weekend but then I remembered that I had already committed to doing the Relay For Life. Every year it is held in May at the Centralia High School track. My husband works for Lewis County PUD and they have a team ~The Hotwires~ that fundraises and participates each year. Last year my friend, Melisa, and I took the 2-4am shift. Team members can sign up for 1/2 hour increments of time. The opening ceremonies are held Friday night and the walking begins. It "runs" from 6PM Friday to 2PM Saturday afternoon. Between running and walking last year I totaled 18 miles. This year, I am going for more.

If anyone would like to contribute to my Hot Wire Team/American Cancer Society click HERE. Any donation is helpful. Our team is behind this year. Check out what the guys on our team did last year to collect some extra donations at the event :)

Our Reason to Relay

Fighting cancer is a team effort. The impact we can make together is much greater than what any of us could do alone.

At the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, our team will camp out overnight and take turns walking around the track to raise money and awareness to help the American Cancer Society save more lives from cancer. By joining or donating to our team, you will be a part of a life-changing event that gives everyone in the community a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that takes too much.

Please make a donation, or join our team and help us create a world where cancer can no longer claim another year of anyone’s life.

Any guess on how many miles I can get this year??? There may be a small treat to the one who guess's right :)
