Food Tag

Tressa from Training With A Track Coach And His Adorable Wife tagged me with this food questionnaire.  It also has a few random questions thrown in.  I am a fan of fun and useless information.  Here's a bit more on me.

1.  If you could eat anything without any health repercussions or guilt, what would your meal be?  Papa Pete's Pizza would have to be my food of choice.  It has been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl.  The best pizza ever.  If you haven't tried it yet, you should.  For dessert I'd choose Cadbury Mini Eggs.  They are evil and I love them.

2. If you could meet anyone living or dead who would it be and why?  For the longest time I wanted to meet Arnold Schwarzenegger (yes, I can spell it without looking it up.  I was/am a huge fan), Leonard Nimoy (Spock), Joe Montana, Steve Young, & David Boreanaz(Bones).  Can you tell I watched a few too many action films, Sci-Fi, and was a HUGE football fan?  No wonder I get along so well with the guys.  If I could truly see someone who had passed, I'd give anything for more time with my Mom.

3. Why did you start blogging and what did you expect when you started?  This blog originally began as a family blog with an occasional run thrown in.  Last year, in large part to Tall Mom, I decided to devote more time and energy into it and my running took over.  It has been the biggest blessing.  I started my weight loss journey alone and continue to rack up my miles on the treadmill or with my iPod.  Luckily, I have met so many amazing runners who share this passion.  I no longer feel alone and it motivates and inspires me every day.

4. What is the one book you could read over and over again? I love my Runner's World Magazine.  Does that count?  I LOVE reading.  I don't get to as often anymore but I use to read all of the time.  Back in high school I'd come home and escape in a good book.  I went through a Stephen King stage.  The latest craze has been the Twilight Series.  I can safely say I know I'm not the only one.  I went to the midnight release of Breaking Dawn and read it through before the end of the next day.  I was useless to my family that day.  If I start a good book I have a hard time stopping.

5. If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?  I would love to go to Hawaii or another place where there is sunshine, beaches, and clear beautiful water.  On a running front I'd love to go to Dublin to run the marathon there along with running a 1/2 or full in every state.  In the near future I REALLY want to go to the East Coast to explore and run the National Marathon in March.

6. If you could have a TV show on the Food Network, what would it be?  My daughters are obsessed with Man vs. Food.  I admit, I love watching it too.  I think it would be great to travel and try all the great food and maybe pick up a few cooking tips.  As a side bonus I'd schedule it around marathons/halfs in the area so I could accomplish all my races on the same trip.  Sounds like a win/win.  Now if only someone would sponsor me :)

7. What was the best meal you ever had?  I LOVE pasta and Italian food.  I've had some amazing calzones.   One of the best meals we use to treat ourselves with was at The Keg.  Sadly, the restaurant was closed.  They had fresh baked bread, great salads, steak, and lobster.  It was delicious.

8. Who has been the greatest influence on your love for food and learning to cook?  I've never had a great desire to be a domesticated kitchen goddess.  I've been inspired by a few great meals over the years but I've never had a love for it.  I loved my Mom's spaghetti.  Nothing fancy but I swear she made it better than anyone I know.  I do make a great chicken fettucine alfredo and enchiladas.   I've been told I  make the best chocolate chip cookies around.  I enjoy making desserts.  Anything chocolate I seem to have a knack for.  Go figure :)

So now I am supposed to pick 5 people to do this as well. And my choices are...

Jess @ Blonde Ponytail

Harmony @ Keep On Keeping On

Adam @ I Am Boring

TMB @ Racing With Babes

Bethany & Ryan @ Our Love On The Run
